Installing 8V is not quite as simple as Arturia's first products, because it requires the company's Syncrosoft dongle and on-line authorisation. I have heard people complain about this, but I think it's an excellent system, because you can carry the dongle around and legitimately use copies of the software on different machines. Very easy to use once you get it up and running - was able to quickly diagnose improper protocol on my I2C bus, especially start/stop bits. Some improvements: 1) include a decal of the connector pin-out on the body of the pod. I went ahead and printed my own out, and attached it, so I don't have to always go back to the manual every time I'm making a connection. 2) make it a bit clearer which program should be downloaded from the software page. Needless to say, the real world caught up with me a long time ago and I ran out of time/motivation to update the blog, so it sat stagnant for several years. I've finally gotten around to replacing the old and unmaintained blogging software with a static generator, so the blog is now just plain static pages.
